Rodman must pay $500,000 in back child support

Former NBA star Dennis Rodman has been ordered to pay $500,000 in back child support to his ex-wife, the Los Angeles Times reported Friday.

Orange County Superior Court Commissioner Barry Michaelson also told Rodman that he might be put in prison if he does not pay the money, according to the report. Dennis and Michelle Rodman must still work out the terms of the custody and visitation rights for their two children.

A Jan. 24 trial has been scheduled to settle those issues.

Michelle Rodman had requested $850,000 in child support, but after the two sides discussed the issue outside the courtroom, they settled on the $500,000 amount, which Michaelson approved.
