Report: Dodgers' Ramirez out 4-6 weeks

Los Angeles Dodgers shortstop Hanley Ramirez has a strained left hamstring and could be out for four to six weeks, according to a report.

An MRI taken this week confirmed the strain, TrueblueLA.com reported. Ramirez's projected return would be early June.

Ramirez suffered the injury while running the bases on Friday night in a game against the San Francisco Giants. The next day, the Dodgers placed him on the 15-day disabled list. He had just come off the DL after being out with a thumb injury.

In the four games he played between stints on the DL, he was 5 for 11 with a home run.

Dee Gordon is expected to continue to fill in at short until Ramirez returns.
