Pioli joins NBC Sports

Scott Pioli is bringing two decades of scouting experience to NBC's NFL studio show, Football Night in America, which airs Sunday nights during the regular season.

Pioli was hired to work for all NBC Sports properties and will be part of the weekday Pro Football Talk studio show with host Mike Florio, who operates the PFT website.

"Scott is an intelligent, articulate and well-respected NFL front office veteran, who brings a new element to our NFL coverage," said Sam Flood, executive producer, NBC Sports & NBC Sports Network in a news release. "We are thrilled to welcome him to our team. His front-office voice will complement those of our former head coach, former players, and NFL Insiders."

Pioli worked for NBC Sports and NFL Network during the 2013 Scouting Combine and NFL draft. Football Night in America features NBC talent Dan Patrick, former head coach Tony Dungy, commentator Bob Costas, former NFL player Rodney Harrison and others.

Pioli was fired as general manager of the Kansas City Chiefs, who overhauled their front office and coaching staff upon hiring Andy Reid as head coach. Pioli helped the New England Patriots to three Super Bowl titles and was named NFL Executive of the Year while working in tandem with Bill Belichick in Foxborough.

"After more than two decades serving in NFL front offices, I'm excited to be part of the coverage of the league by joining NBC Sports' NFL team and the NBC family," said Pioli. "I look forward to sharing my experiences of the inner workings of NFL front offices to viewers and fans."
