Pitcher Aaron Cook was released Tuesday by the Philadelphia Phillies. The right-hander posted a 3.38 ERA in 18 2/3 innings this spring, and wasn't going to crack the Phillies starting rotation. A Denver Post report suggested that the Colorado Rockies, the team for which Cook spent all but one of his 11 big-league seasons, are expected to "discuss internally" whether to sign him.
