Pat Angerer looking to rebound from injury
Pat Angerer has dealt with foot and knee injuries that have sidelined him for portions of the past two seasons.
But that's not going to be enough for him to hang up his cleats.
The veteran is set to be a free agent this Tuesday and the Colts, the team he's spent the last four years with, do not have plans to bring him back.
Speaking to the Indianapolis Star, Angerer, who was placed on injured reserve due to a knee injury in 2013, said he still has plenty of football left to play.
"They gave me a heads-up I would not be re-signed by them,'' Angerer told the newspaper. "I understand. I've been hurt the past two years. It's part of the business. It's part of the game. There comes a time when you've got to move on. I wish I could have played better here. I wish I hadn't gotten hurt.''
Angerer got his career off to a great start, tallying 88 tackles in 2010 and 148 in 2011. But in 2012, that number dipped to 28 and in 2013 he finished with only 63 tackles in nine starts.
"I wouldn't change anything, other than I wish I hadn't gotten hurt," Angerer said. "But like I said, I can still play this game.
"There were games where I had a cortisone shot in my knee and I still had double-digit tackles. I can still do this. It's just a matter of getting healthy and taking care of the things I need to take care of.''
