NFL roundup: QB Freeman to choose team Monday
Free-agent quarterback Josh Freeman was contacted by eight to 10 teams since his release from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last week, and he has narrowed the list to three potential suitors, CBSSports.com reported Sunday.
Freeman is expected to choose a team by Monday.
The Oakland Raiders are believed to be the favorite, according to NFL.com. The Buffalo Bills and San Francisco 49ers are also reportedly interested. However, Freeman likely will not choose San Francisco because he wants to start.
The Cleveland Browns, Arizona Cardinals and Green Bay Packers are reportedly not interested in Freeman.
Freeman may pick the Raiders because he is familiar with offensive coordinator Greg Olson.
Since Freeman is still owed more than $6 million by the Buccaneers, he is more interested in the scope of the opportunity, the stability and quality of the coaching staff and the amount of interest from the team than financial considerations, according to the CBS report.
---The 49ers are interested in free agent defensive lineman Richard Seymour, multiple media outlets reported.
Seymour and the 49ers could not agree to terms in September, according to CBSSports.com. The Detroit Lions and Atlanta Falcons are also reportedly interested in the 34-year-old.
The 49ers pursued Seymour after pass-rusher Aldon Smith went on indefinite leave to deal with personal issues.
Seymour, a former Patriot and Oakland Raider, had his contract voided by the Raiders in February but he accounts for almost $14 million on the team's salary cap this season.

Starter Terrelle Pryor is expected to play Sunday night against the San Diego Chargers after missing last week's game with a concussion. Undrafted rookie Matt McGloin was moved up to the backup spot and Matt Flynn was dropped to third on the depth chart. Flynn started in place of Pryor last week but was ineffective.
---Jacksonville Jaguars rookie left tackle Luke Joeckel fractured his left ankle during Sunday's game against the St. Louis Rams and will be out the rest of the season, the team announced after the game.
Joeckel, the No. 2 overall pick in this year's draft, went down while blocking for running back Maurice Jones-Drew.
The rookie started the season at right tackle, but moved to the left side after the Jaguars traded away Eugene Monroe last week.
Jaguars quarterback Blaine Gabbert also left the game with a hamstring injury and was replaced by Chad Henne.
---After ending an 18-game experiment with punter Shawn Powell, the Buffalo Bills have decided to go back to the veteran leg of Brian Moorman.
Moorman, who spent 12 seasons with the Bills, was released five games into the 2012 season in favor of Powell. Moorman spent the remained of last season with Dallas and was in training camp with Pittsburgh this year.
Powell was released on Friday.

---The Tennessee Titans contacted former No. 1 overall draft pick JaMarcus Russell after starting quarterback Jake Locker was injured, ESPN reported.
Russell was reportedly interested in joining the team but cannot because of a knee injury he sustained during the summer that he is still rehabbing. Russell has not played since 2009.
