(Adds later games) March 9 (The Sports Xchange) - Highlights from National Basketball Association games on Wednesday: Hornets 122, Pelicans 113 Kemba Walker scored 35 points to lead seven Charlotte players in double figures, and the Hornets won their fifth straight with a 122-113 victory over the New Orleans Pelicans. The Hornets withstood a two-man assault from the Pelicans' Anthony Davis and Jrue Holiday, who combined for 78 points. Davis finished with 40 points and 13 rebounds, and Holiday added 38 points and six assists. The Hornets led by as many as 17 in the first half and never trailed, but they had to pull away again after the Pelicans rallied for a 109-109 tie with 3:19 left. Walker's fall-away jumper with 2:51 gave Charlotte the lead for good, and then he tacked on four free throws on the Hornets' next two possessions. His 3-pointer with 26.2 seconds pushed the lead to nine and settled the outcome for good. Celtics 116, Grizzlies 96 The Boston Celtics roared to their 14th straight home victory, erupting for 31 points, including 16 by Isaiah Thomas, in the third quarter and routing the depleted Memphis Grizzlies 116-96. Bucks 114, Heat 108 Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 24 points, Jabari Parker added 23 and the Milwaukee Bucks snapped a two-game losing streak with a 114-108 victory over the Miami Heat on Wednesday night at the Bradley Center. Antetokounmpo made 9 of 15 shots from the field for the Bucks, who shot 52 percent from the floor and hit 4 of 8 3-pointers while going 26 of 37 from the free throw line. Milwaukee also got 20 points from Khris Middleton and 18 from Mason Plumlee. Greg Monroe, who moved back into the starting lineup, finished with 10 points and eight rebounds. Hassan Whiteside scored 23 points off the bench to lead Miami, which also got 20 from Luol Deng and 18 from Dwyane Wade. Pistons 102, Mavericks 96 Detroit center Andre Drummond bullied Dallas for 25 points and 17 rebounds to lead the Pistons to an important 102-96 road win over the struggling Mavericks. All five Detroit starters scored in double figures as the surging Pistons (33-31) moved into a virtual tie with the limping Chicago Bulls for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. In a game that was tight throughout, Drummond and the Pistons used an 11-2 run midway through the fourth quarter to go ahead 92-83. Dallas, which got 25 points and five assists from forward Chandler Parsons, including a driving dunk to cut the deficit to 93-89, still couldn't avoid dropping its fourth consecutive game, a season high. Knicks 128, Suns 97 Sasha Vujacic and Carmelo Anthony scored 23 points each, and the New York Knicks hit 16 of 24 3-pointers in a 128-97 rout of the Phoenix Suns. Vujacic, starting for the first time since Nov. 10 in place of Arron Afflalo (right abdominal strain), hit six of seven 3-pointers. The point total was his season high, and it came within two points of his career high. Derrick Williams had all 18 of his points in the fourth quarter, and Robin Lopez and Kristaps Porzingis added 13 points each for the Knicks, who led by as many as 36 points. New York (27-39) won for just the fifth time in the past 22 games and for just the second time in the past 12 road games. Thunder 120, Clippers 108 Russell Westbrook posted 25 points, 20 assists and 11 rebounds to lead the Oklahoma City Thunder to a 120-108 victory over the Los Angeles Clippers. It was Westbrook's 11th triple-double of the season. He is now tied with Golden State's Draymond Green for the NBA lead. Westbrook is only the third player in the last 30 years to have a triple-double with at least 20 points and 20 assists and 10 rebounds. Kevin Durant scored 30 and grabbed 12 rebounds for the Thunder. It was his seventh straight double-double, the longest streak of his career. It was also his fourth straight game of at least 30 points and 10 rebounds. Serge Ibaka added 15 points as the Thunder improved to 44-20. Jeff Green paced the Clippers with 23 points on 10 of 13 shooting. J.J. Redick added 22 points and Chris Paul tallied 12 points and 16 assists as they dropped to 41-22. Cavaliers 120, Kings 111 Kyrie Irving scored 30 points, and LeBron James added 25 points and 11 rebounds to leave the Cleveland Cavaliers to a 120-111 win over the Sacramento Kings. James, making his final appearance at Sleep Train Arena before Sacramento opens a new facility, grabbed four of his rebounds on the offensive glass, the last one leading to a four-point play when Kevin Love nailed a 3-pointer while fouled by Sacramento's Darren Collison. That extended the Cavaliers' lead to 115-108, and J.R. Smith put the contest away with a 3-pointer on Cleveland's next possession. James' 3-pointer also kick-started a 13-4 fourth-quarter run that helped hold off the Kings in the arena where he made his NBA debut on Oct. 29, 2003. James played 37 minutes and added six assists as the Cavaliers (45-18) rebounded from an 106-103 loss to the short-handed Memphis Grizzlies on Monday. Warriors 115, Jazz 94 Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson combined for three 3-pointers in the final 58 seconds of the second quarter, helping the Golden State Warriors break open a close game and pull away from the Utah Jazz en route to a 115-94 victory. Curry (three) and Thompson (five) combined for eight 3-pointers in the game, giving them an even 500 for the season, as the Warriors (57-6) won their 27th in a row at home this season and 46th straight at Oracle Arena dating back to last January. The overall home winning streak is an ongoing NBA record. Curry finished with just 12 points, but Thompson poured in 23, Draymond Green had 17 and center Marreese Speights came off the bench to provide an additional 16, helping Golden State clinch a season-series win over the Jazz this season with a third consecutive win.
