ROSTER MOVES, TRANSACTIONS, ETC.

Blue Jays: Nolan Reimold was designated for assignment while Kevin Pillar was recalled from the minors.

Mariners: GM Jack Zduriencik has received a multiyear contract extension.

Rays: Ryan Hanigan was activated from the DL, with Curt Casali sent to the minors.

Tigers: They placed a claim on Chad Qualls.

INJURY UPDATES

A's: Both Jed Lowrie and Nick Punto are nearing rehab stints (athletics.com).

Braves: Gavin Floyd won't start throwing until October, but is expected to be OK by next spring (ajc.com). Also, Jonny Venters has suffered a setback on his surgically-repaired elbow and will pay a visit to Dr. James Andrews (ajc.com).

Brewers: Matt Garza could rejoin the rotation next week (jsonline.com).

Cubs: Anthony Rizzo left the game one inning early due to lower back tightness, but it was called a precautionary measure by the Cubs.

Dodgers: Hyun-Jin Ryu is scheduled to throw a bullpen session Wednesday and hopes to come off the DL soon. He's eligible to return Friday (Alanna Rizzo).

Padres: Already out for the season, Yonder Alonso will have surgery on his forearm (utsandiego.com).

Pirates: Andrew McCutchen was forced from Tuesday's game with left rib discomfort.

Rays: Evan Longoria DH'd Tuesday, as he's dealing with a sore forearm (tbo.com).

Reds: Joey Votto is beginning some light baseball activity (reds.com). Tony Cingrani is unlikely to return this season (reds.com).

Royals: A tight back means Yordano Ventura's next start will be skipped. Omar Infante is also nursing a sore shoulder (royals.com).

Tigers: Anibal Sanchez is worried he'll miss the rest of the season.

Twins: Prospect Miguel Sano has started to take batting practice in his return from Tommy John surgery (startribune.com).

Yankees: Though he's feeling better, Brett Gardner was again out of the starting lineup Tuesday with an ankle injury (yankees.com).

MISCELLANY

Angels: They are looking at Bartolo Colon, Trevor Cahill and Scott Feldman, but obstacles exist, reports Jon Heyman.
