Missouri boots safety off team after arrest

Mizzou freshman safety Ka'Ra Stewart was dismissed from the team after his second arrest this fall on suspicion of marijuana possession in Columbia, Mo.

Stewart was arrested Monday after University of Missouri police smelled the odor of marijuana and entered his dorm room, according to the university police department.

Officers said Stewart told them he was not smoking marijuana and barred them from entering the room. They returned with a search warrant and arrested him after finding four bags that later tested positive for marijuana.

Stewart, who redshirted this season, was released from jail on a $500 bond.

An athletic department spokesman confirmed Stewart's dismissal from the team on Tuesday.
