Mark Duper has signs of CTE
Former Miami Dolphins All-Pro wide receiver Mark Duper has been given a diagnosis of chronic traumatic encephalopathy.
It's commonly known as CTE, the degenerative brain disease linked to depression and dementia.
Duper told ESPN that he's dealing with symptoms of CTE.
"It was shocking," Duper said. "I hoped nothing was wrong. I've had memory things where I would go to the store and forget what I went for. And I have emotional swings and panic attacks."
Duper joins former NFL players Tony Dorsett, Joe DeLamielleure and Leonard Marshall as diagnosed with signs of CTE in testing conducted at UCLA.
