Lehigh 69, Quinnipiac 58

Lehigh reached a milestone by winning its 1,000th game in the program's history with a 69-58 victory over Quinnipiac on Saturday night at Stabler Arena in Bethlehem, Pa.

The Mountain Hawks improved to 7-5 overall and boosted their winning streak to five games while remaining undefeated at Stabler Arena this season. Quinnipiac fell to 6-4.

Freshman center Tim Kempton led Lehigh with 12 points and sophomore forward Jesse Chuku chipped in with 11.

Quinnipiac was led by senior forward Ike Azotam's game-high 18 points and junior forward Ousmane Drame's 14.

Lehigh never trailed in the game. The Mountain Hawks, who shot 59 percent from the field in the second half, led by as much as 63-41 on a dunk by Chuku with 2:52 left in the game.

The Mountain Hawks took a 22-15 lead into halftime despite being outrebounded 24-17 and 9-2 on the offensive boards.

Quinnipiac started cold, missing its first 11 shots from the field before freshman guard Kasim Chandler scored on a layup with 13:58 left in the first half.

The Mountain Hawks made 10 of 27 shots from the field (37 percent) in the first half.

Quinnipiac was 6 of 30 (20 percent) and 0 of 8 from beyond the arc in the first half. The Bobcats finished the game 0 of 16 from 3-point range.
