Kate Middleton Also Chose to Wear Red Last Night

From ELLE

Around the same time of last night's debates, Kate Middleton attended a reception at Government House in Victoria, Canada. She seemed to have gotten the memo from Hillary Clinton that red was the power color of the evening. Her Preen pre-fall/winter 2016 collection dress-complete with a Canadian leaf pin-was scarlet, gorgeous, and stood out in a room of neutrals and blues:

Her choice to wear the red dress was a complete surprise to the designers, Harper's Bazaar UK reports. "We're so thrilled, she looks so elegant," Thea Bregazzi, one of Preen's two designers, told the outlet. "This dress is designed to be both classic yet modern, perfect for the Duchess."

"We had no idea she was planning to wear the dress, it was a wonderful surprise!" Preen's other designer Justin Thornton added. "We knew she loved our designs but hadn't found the right occasion to wear them."
