Joe Lauzon vs. Takanori Gomi Added to UFC on Fox 16 in Chicago
A lightweight bout between former PRIDE champion Takanori Gomi (35-10, 1 NC) and all-time post-fight bonus winner Joe Lauzon (24-10) has been added to the UFC on Fox 16 fight card. The match-up was announced on America’s Pregame on Thursday.
Gomi last fought in September of 2014. He’s looking to rebound from the first knockout loss of his career when he faces Lauzon at the United Center in Chicago on July 25.
Lauzon is also coming off a loss. He’s hoping to bounce back from a TKO loss to Al Iaquinta at UFC 183 in January.
A rematch between bantamweight champion T.J. Dillashaw and former titleholder Renan Barao headlines UFC on Fox 16. Dillashaw snapped Barao’s 32-fight winning streak at UFC 173 in May of 2014.
