Giants RB Wilson injures neck

New York Giants running back David Wilson left Sunday's game against the visiting Philadelphia Eagles at the end of the first quarter with a neck injury.

He will not return.

Wilson's last play was a run in which he was hit in his own end zone, but forward progress put the ball at the 2-yard line. Wilson stayed down for a few moments before heading to the locker room.

The Giants later announced Wilson would not be back.

Earlier, Wilson scored a touchdown for the Giants in the first quarter on a 5-yard run and did a backflip to celebrate the score. He had three more carries after that and was targeted on a pass play.

Brandon Jacobs took over for Wilson.
