Fantasy Friday: Buffalo Bills to start and drop for week three

LeSean McCoy

For each week of the NFL season, we here at the Buffalo Bills cover32 site will be providing some fantasy football advice. Taking a look at two players every week, we will attempt to aid all fantasy players in their weekly roster selections with one start and one drop from the Buffalo Bills weekly roster.

Now 0-2 to start the year, the Bills have a must-win game this week against the Arizona Cardinals. However, the game will not be an easy one for the team. The Bills will need top performances from many of the team’s top players. Should they win, this could result in some great fantasy performers from their teams.

Start — LeSean McCoy — Running Back

This start is mostly do to my lack of trust in the Buffalo Bills’ passing attack against the extremely talented Cardinals’ secondary. With Tyrod Taylor struggling to complete many passes to his top wide receivers, the team will almost be forced into using their rushing attack more than usual.

Another factor this week could be running back coach Anthony Lynn taking over as offensive coordinator this week. Likely wanting to go with a safe approach that he knows, running the football more than usual could be the option we see most out of Lynn’s play calling.

With these factors included, LeSean McCoy should get his shot at making things happen this week. I am looking for over 20-to-25 carries for McCoy this week and if the Bills are to have any shot at winning the game, at least 100-yards rushing in this game with a touchdown possibly thrown in there as well.

Drop — Tyrod Taylor — Quarterback

In my mind the hardest part of this week’s game for the Buffalo Bills will be them succeeding in the passing attack. Going up against Arizona’s extremely talented secondary, I have my own doubts about the Bills being much of a passing threat in this game, instead relying on the ground game to hopefully keep them alive.

With that said, the obvious drop this week for the Buffalo Bills is quarterback Tyrod Taylor. If the Bills are unable to get their passing attacking going, the main personed penalized this week in fantasy football will be Taylor. In fact, I’d even go as far to say that Taylor will be close to last in this week’s quarterback fantasy totals.
