Fantasy Football: Top ten RBs of 2016

1. Todd Gurley: Los Angeles Rams

Jared Goff may have been the number one pick, but the Rams offense will still go through Todd Gurley. In 13 games last season he put up over 1100 yards and scored 10 touchdowns. Expect even more this year.

2. Le’Veon Bell: Pittsburgh Steelers

If you’re assuming that Bell plays all 16 games this year he should absolutely be ranked number one on your running back board. We’re expecting 12 games, which should be more than enough to help win a few fantasy football leagues.

3. Adrian Peterson: Minnesota Vikings

Peterson may not be the best third down blocker or receiver, but nobody does it better when it comes to the rush. Expect anywhere between 1,000 yards and 8 touchdowns and 1500 yards and 12 touchdowns from AD.

4. Ezekiel Elliot: Dallas Cowboys

What happens when you give the top running back prospect in years the NFL’s best run-blocking line? We are about to find out.

5. Jamaal Charles: Kansas City Chiefs

Another ACL surgery is a concern, but I have written off Jamaal Charles enough times to know better. If you’re betting against him, odds are you are going to lose.

6. David Johnson: Arizona Cardinals

Johnson was one of the great fantasy football surprises of 2015. He plays all three downs and contributes consistently from week to week, which is more than you can say for most.

7. Lamar Miller: Houston Texans

Miller has been flying under the radar in Miami. No more. The secret is out and we’re projecting a big year for him (950 yards, nine touchdowns) if he stays healthy.

8. Doug Martin: Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Martin got his big payday. Now it’s time to prove Tampa Bay made the right investment. Here’s to hoping that 2013 and 2014 really were flukes.

9. Matt Forte: New York Jets

If your team doesn’t have a quarterback who can throw the ball accurately more than eight yards down the field, the running back usually reaps the benefits. Forte could be in for a career year with the Jets if Ryan Fitzpatrick does not return.

10. Carlos Hyde: San Francisco 49ers

Hyde has been slowed down by injuries the last couple of years. If he can string together a full 16 games, he has all the tools he needs to put up some very impressive numbers.
