Damian Lillard puts up double-double, Trail Blazers beat Nets

Damian Lillard put up his first double-double this season, scoring 28 points and registering 10 assists, to help the Portland Trail Blazers beat the Brooklyn Nets, 97-87. Portland (7-3) is now on a four-game winning streak.

Lillard shot 8-14 (4-6 from three-point range) and 8-9 from the free throw line, in an efficient offensive performance. Other top contributors for Portland included Chris Kaman with 12 points and five rebounds, and Robin Lopez with 10 points and seven rebounds. On 10-17 shooting, Brook Lopez scored 21 points for Brooklyn in the loss. Deron Williams added 19 points and six assists and Kevin Garnett finished with 12 points and 12 rebounds.

The Nets posted an eFG% of just 39.9%, including 5.3% from 3-point range. This year, they are 0-1 when they record marks below 45% and 30% in those respective categories. On the other hand, the Trail Blazers are undefeated (3-0) when holding their opponents to such low percentages.

Brooklyn (4-5) has now lost three straight games.

Coming up, the Trail Blazers square off against the New Orleans Pelicans, who are 5-3 on the season. The Nets go up against the Miami Heat, currently sitting at 5-5 this year.
