Chris Archer surrenders three runs in win vs. Yankees

Rays pitcher Chris Archer earned a win Tuesday, allowing three earned runs on seven hits in 6 1/3 innings while striking out three in his team's 4-3 victory over the Yankees.

Archer (9-8) was handed a 4-0 lead after three-and-a-half innings and almost gave it back, allowing a solo home run in the fourth and a two-run bases-loaded single in the fifth. He managed to hang on for his first win since Aug. 13. Archer owns a 3.63 ERA and 155:63 K:BB ratio in 173 2/3 innings. He's scheduled to face the Blue Jays Sunday.
