ST. LOUIS -- David Perron scored midway through the third period to help the St. Louis Blues break a five-game home-ice losing streak with a 2-1 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets on Saturday night.
Jaroslav Halak made 18 saves and Chris Stewart also scored for St. Louis, which had gone 27 days without a home win.
The Blues lost their previous five home games by a combined 23-9 score, marking the longest skid since they lost dropped seven in a row from Nov. 25 to Dec.17, 2006.
Columbus lost for the seventh time in nine games.
Perron converted from the slot after taking a nifty pass from David Backes to break a 1-1 tie at 9:51 of the third period. It the sixth goal of the season for Perron, who has four road goals.
St. Louis has won four of its last six including road wins at Detroit, Calgary and Vancouver.
Halak improved to 4-0-1 with his second solid effort since missing eight games with groin injury. He held the Blue Jackets off in the final 59 seconds when Columbus had a six-on-four advantage. Halak allowed one goal on 20 shots in a 1-0 loss at Colorado on Wednesday night.
Stewart put the Blues in front at 13:55 of the first period. He blasted a shot over the right shoulder of Sergei Bobrovsky from the top of the right faceoff circle.
Columbus tied the score at 1 on a short-handed goal by Matt Calvert late in the second period. Calvert broke in alone after a pass from James Wisniewski and slipped the puck behind Halak. It was Calvert's third goal of the seson and second short-handed of the season for the Blue Jackets.
Bobrovsky, who fell to 3-6-2, was pulled from the first meeting between the teams after allowing three goals on 11 shots in the Blues' 4-1 win on Jan. 31.
Columbus is 1 of 17 on the power play in the last five games.
