BJ Penn Reveals He'll Fight at UFC 197, but Mum on Opponent

BJ Penn Will Not Be Charged in Sexual Assault Case

It's no secret that UFC Hall of Famer BJ Penn has been training for a comeback, but we now have a specific time and place.

Penn on Tuesday revealed on the Anik & Florian Podcast that he would be returning to the Octagon on March 5 at UFC 197 in Las Vegas. He apparently has an opponent verbally agreed to, but was unable to comment about who that is just yet.

“The opponent is already chosen and everybody has worked for that goal on March 5,” Penn said. “Looks like the ball is moving forward (to fight on March 5).”

UFC officials have yet to make any announcements about whether or not Penn's comeback will take place at UFC 197.

Penn has been training at Jackson Wink MMA in New Mexico for his return, and hasn't put many limits on his expectations for the duration of his return.

“I'm really having fun. I'm enjoying myself. The sky is the limit over here. They're really trying to evolve me and take me to a new level,” he told Jon Anik and Kenny Florian.

“I definitely want to go and get my hand raised. If I feel that's enough there, maybe we'll walk away. But as soon as your hand gets raised, it's who else wants some of this?”
