When a prospect makes a commitment to a school, he dreams of winning championships. Fua Leilua, a junior college defensive lineman who plans to sign with Oklahoma State on Wednesday, is no different.

Leilua tweeted Sunday about the Cowboys winning the Big 12 title in 2017.

You’ve got to like Leilua’s confidence, but Baker Mayfield, the star quarterback of two-time defending conference champion Oklahoma, wasn’t really on board with Leilua’s sentiment.

Another Oklahoma State player, wide receiver (and LSU transfer) Tyron Johnson, got involved:

Mayfield followed it up with another perfectly executed zinger:

The two rivals met on the field in the regular season finale the past two seasons — both times with the conference title on the line. The Sooners won both times, 58-23 in 2015 and 38-20 in 2016. In those two games, Mayfield, a 2016 Heisman Trophy finalist, combined for 468 yards and five touchdowns.

The Sooners and Cowboys meet a bit earlier in the schedule this time around: Nov. 4 in Stillwater.
