Alex Radulov is indeed bringing his talents back to the NHL, despite what was reported over the weekend.

The soon-to-be 30-year-old forward has signed a one-year, $5.75 million deal with the Montreal Canadiens, which should really ease those negative feelings fans are still experiencing following the P.K. Subban trade.

Radulov has spent the last four years with CSKA scoring 78 goals and 238 points in 131 games.

Sources has told TSN last month that Radulov was looking for something along the lines of two years at $7.5 million per season.

If you’ll recall, Radulov and new teammate Shea Weber were on that Predators team in 2012 when the Russian forward was benched for a playoff game following a curfew violation.

“I don’t really know what to say about it because I was one of the guys that stood up for him and wanted him back,” Weber told the Team 1040 in Vancouver in 2012 (via the Nashville Examiner). “There were a bunch of us that played with him that felt the same way. You feel a little bit betrayed, but I am sure he feels bad about it now and he looks back on it and wishes it didn’t happen. Those are the things you can’t take back and we’ve got to move forward.”

Despite the initial reaction Radulov’s color personality, the move is another low risk, high reward signing by GM Marc Bergevin. Like Alex Semin last year, if things go the way many expect them to, the Canadiens can cut ties without a major cost.
