Ball Don't Lie - NBA

A look around the league and the web that covers it. It's also important to note that the rotation order and starting nods aren't always listed in order of importance. That's for you, dear reader, to figure out.

C: Lakerhead Daily. Sasha Vujacic(notes) helps to find out what it takes to turn a pro free-throw into Shaq.
PF: Both Teams Played Hard. Michael Jordan, Michael Jackson and Magic Johnson. M to the freakin' J.
SF: With Malice. Shaq looks likely to play trick shot artist Bruce Manley in a game of H-O-R-S-E.
SG: SRI. Danny Ferry talks about the Shaq trade and how close the deal was to happening in February.
PG: The Blowtorch. Found item: The Minnesota Timberwolves' war room draft board.
6th: Deadspin. UNC's Ellington is happy to be drafted, but sad to leave his 19-year-old Philly girlfriend.
7th: NBA Off-Season 2009. Ricky Rubio's(notes) "other" Draft photo cracks me up.
8th: Barkley's Mouth. Michael Jackson's greatest hits relative to Thursday's NBA Draft festivities.
9th: Bucks Diary. The numbers say Shaq doesn't have the kryptonite to slow down Dwight Howard(notes).
10th: Larry Brown Sports. Kevin Love(notes) on the Wolves taking three guards: "What are we doing?"

Instead of making him Frankenshaq, they should have given him a smaller ball, a closer FT line, and brought the rim lower, and made the rim slightly smaller, proportionate to the difference in size between Shaq and Sasha. That would make more sense. They should have also had Sasha practice playing basketball with his back to the basket for 37 years. This experiment was funny, but completely idiotic.

Oh come on ppl, everyone knows that after being signed to a major contract, the player in question has an off year in the first year of the contract, it happens in all sports. The machine will be back next year raining threes, i guarantee it.

The guy gets twice as many steals as turnovers and he has an "off" year? Why do people continue to hate on Machine... He shot 36% from beyond the arc and 92% from the stripe!

In regards to Bucks Diary, that formula is flawed in that the reason Shaq will help Cleveland is the fact that Howard wouldn't have to be double teamed with Shaq on the floor, regardless of either of their productivity, cutting down on the open shots that the Magic used to bury the Cavs. Everyone knew that from day one, so what's the point of making a formula to contradict the truth. Maybe Big Z was in on it?

lol i remember that episode...sasha vujacic made 10 of 10 free throws normally, 10 of 10 while distracted by hot chicks, 10 of 10 when distracted by a fat guy, and 8 of 10 when BLINDFOLDED, given STILTS, and SHAQ-SIZED hands (to show how bad of a free-throw shooter shaq is)
it was about muscle memory and visualization...

Its funny how everyone is making a big deal about Shaq going to Cleveland and Carter going to Orlando. It doesnt really matter which team will come out on top between those two because the Lakers will be right there waiting to smash on either team for another title.

so hmm yao shoots 85% from the free throw line, has pretty big hands, is almost 5 inches taller, and has lower appendages that are weaker than uncooked spaghetti.....and on top of that, yao ming sucks... I wonder how yao does it. Maybe shaq should stop shot putting it..

MAYBE SHAQ FELL OUT OF A TREE AND BROKE BOTH HIS WRISTS. Jesus, you guys call yourselves basketball fans. He is physically incapable of following through on his shot. They should have broken both sasha's wrists and seen how he did. Yeah yeah, that's inhumane and cruel, but come on, he plays for the Lakers.
