Mets young star's extension talks halted after 'death penalty' sanctions, agency claims

The agency that represents New York Mets catcher Francisco Alvarez is suing the Major League Baseball Players Association after an investigation into its business practices placed a “death penalty” on its representation, ESPN and the Associated Press reported via a federal lawsuit filed Thursday.
