Tyler Alexander loses perfect game in 8th as Rays edge Jays

Left-hander Tyler Alexander was perfect into the eighth inning, Richie Palacios hit a two-run home run and the visiting Tampa Bay Rays defeated the Toronto Blue Jays 4-3 Friday night. Davis Schneider hit a two-run home run for the Blue Jays, who did not have a base runner until Danny Jansen singled with one out in the eighth. Alexander (2-2) allowed three runs and three hits in 7 1/3 innings in the opener of a three-game series.
