The moment Ryan Giggs decided not to stop Gerrard’s free kick

After a drab first half that saw Liverpool outplaying an odd Manchester United starting XI that included Phil Jones in midfield and the trio of Wayne Rooney, Chicharito and Nani on the bench, the "game of the season" lived up to the hype in the final half hour.

A combination of his own considerable weight and the slightest of contact from Rio Ferdinand sent Charlie Adam to the ground just outside the box to set up Steven Gerrard for a free kick in excellent position. Gerrard opted to try and blast his way through the wall with his shot and Ryan Giggs decided to make it easy by pulling his overworked crotch out of the way and breaking off from the other members of the wall (see the goal here). That gave Liverpool a 1-0 lead in the 68th minute, but five minutes after coming on, Chicharito scored his obligatory goal off a corner to see the match end in a draw.

Say what you want about Giggs' hesitancy to hold his ground, but his crotch will live to fight another day.
