DTotD: Sparta Prague striker breaks opponent’s leg with two-footed lunge

Warning: video contains graphic injury caused by idiotic footballer

Sparta Prague lost 2-1 to Mladá Boleslav in the Czech Republic Cup on Sunday night, but the result was overshadowed by a terrible studs-up tackle by Sparta striker Leonard Kweuke.

The Cameroonian let the ball get away from him as he advanced down the left wing in the second half, giving Boleslav defender Radek Dosoudil the chance to clear it out of touch. However, Kweuke foiled that plan by planting a horrific two-footed lunge on Dosoudil's shin, causing a double fracture of the tibia and fibula. Unsurprisingly, the 25-year-old was issued a straight red.

According to Give Me Football, the Disciplinary Committee of the Czech Federation issued Kweuke with a 12-match ban for his career-threatening tackle. Yet he is much better off than his victim, who will be in rehabilitation for the next 12 months.

This has been the Dirty Tackle of the Day: a chronicling of unfortunate events.
