Independiente defender Johny Dos Santos was not pleased with the referee's decision to only add four minutes of injury time at the end of his side's 1-0 loss to Marilia in Brazil's Paulista A3 league. So, when the ref blew his whistle for full time, Dos Santos jogged over to him and then kicked the official in the shoulder.
According to Globo, the ref included the kick in his match report and later filed a police report as well, since he was left with a deep cut on his arm.
Independiente manager Alvaro Gaia went to the referee's dressing room to apologize, but Dos Santos left the stadium without a word.
This has been the Dirty Tackle of the Day: a chronicling of unfortunate events.
Thanks to Rob for the tip!
