What to watch on Friday night
8:00 p.m. ET, NBC: The 4x100m relays go on without Team Butterfingers USA. Tune in to see a proper baton pass. Also, the end of the decathlon and the women's 5000m final air tonight.
10:00 p.m. ET, NBC: Semifinals of platform diving air live,* where China will attempt to win every gold awarded in diving. Two teenagers, David Boudia and Thomas Finchum, will represent the U.S.
*When I say all, I mean all in the Eastern and Central time zones. NBC doesn't think that live should mean live for the Mountain and Pacific time zones.
