Max Pacioretty scores on center ice dump-in, courtesy of Cam Ward’s gaffe (VIDEO)

In the last few weeks, Max Pacioretty of the Montreal Canadiens has proven himself to be nearly indestructible, overcoming an emergency appendectomy, becoming a chew toy for Mikhail Grabovski and battling through a skate cut to the ribs.

If you’re wondering if that good fortune carries over to his offensive game, wonder no more: Check out Pacioretty’s chip shot from center ice, which beat Cam Ward of the Carolina Hurricanes on Monday night.

Oof. That goal was Pacioretty’s first of the season. Montreal won the game, 3-0.

Ward entered the game with a 4-0-1 record in his last five games, giving up four goals in two of those contests. That gaffe on the Pacioretty shot came 18 seconds after Ward gave up a goal to Tomas Plekanec – on an assist by Pacioretty.
