Bovada releases NHL lockout odds; finally, you can profit from your despair

Hipster Zetterberg says: Whatever, Looch, I was locked out before it was cool.

The NHL may have slipped quietly into a coma last night, but that doesn't mean you can't still bet on it! Hooray!

Sports betting website Bovada released their NHL lockout odds over the weekend, giving people the opportunity to put money down on everything from when the lockout will end to how the lockout will end.

I recommend betting on the lockout lasting into the New Year. Not because I think it will or anything, but because then, if it does, you'll be sad but you'll at least get paid. It's win/win. Either hockey returns in the fall or you turn a profit! You'll feel just like a small-market franchise.

Anyway. Let's take a look at the odds:

I'm going to be honest. I like that we live in a world where you can bet on the HRR. It's a world that has its priorities straight, I think.

Here's what I suggest you do: take the under. Again, not because I think that's what's going to happen, but because it'll be mighty cathartic if the players leave money on the table and it goes right into your pocket.
