South Carolina WR Shaq Roland scores the first TD of the 2013 season (GIF)
If you were hoping for an exciting way to kickoff the 2013 college football season, South Carolina answered the bell.
After two running plays by Mike Davis, quarterback Connor Shaw reared back and found receiver Shaq Roland for a 65-yard score.
Roland, a sophomore who had just 80 receiving yards a year ago, cut inside on his defender and left him sprawling on the turf and he coasted into the end zone.
It was just the second touchdown of Roland’s career. The Gamecocks are looking for a bigtime playmaker to replace Ace Sanders and Roland made an early pitch tpo be that guy.
