Pitt running back James Conner, the 2014 ACC Player of the Year, left in the first half of the Panthers’ game against Youngstown State with a knee injury.

Luckily for the Panthers, head coach Pat Narduzzi told reporters after the game that Conner is "fine" and was held out for precautionary reasons.

According to ESPN.com, Conner “winced and appeared to tweak his knee after being tackled” during the second quarter. After limping off the field under his own power, Conner was shown on the ESPN broadcast with an ice pack on his injured knee.

In the second half, Conner, who rushed for 1,765 yards and 26 touchdowns in 2014, was seen on the Pitt sideline in street clothes. He walked with a slight limp after the game and said he'd be fine for next week's game against Akron.

The 6-foot-2, 240-pound junior rushed eight times for 77 yards and two touchdowns before injuring the knee. With Conner out, Pitt turned to freshman Qadree Ollison and he delivered with 207 yards and a touchdown in a 45-37 Panthers win.
