Blind USC long-snapper Jake Olson snaps for 2 spring game FGs

Jake Olson got on the field for USC on Saturday.

Olson, who is blind after losing both eyes as a child, was granted a waiver by the NCAA to practice with the team in September. During Saturday's spring game, he snapped for two field goals.

Olson had to be granted a waiver to walk on to the team because he had received a "Swim with Mike" scholarship to go to USC. The scholarship, given from the Physically Challenged Athletes Scholarship Fund, was deemed to be an athletic scholarship and the NCAA had to (rightly) grant a waiver for Olson to join the team.

Hopefully an opportunity for Olson to take the field in the fall presents itself.
