Arizona State unveils another alternate uniform (Photos)

Arizona State may not be playing very well this season, but at least it has cool uniforms!

Two days after a 42-14 home loss to USC, the Sun Devils unveiled yet another new uniform – an alternate look called “Be the Hammer.” The uniform is “centered around a steel gray color scheme” and is “accentuated with polished copper detailing, which pays homage to (Arizona’s) nickname and recognition as the ‘Copper State.’”

According to a release from the program, the new Adidas combination is “inspired by the team’s tradition of using a sledge hammer emblazoned with the pitchfork to break a rock after big accomplishments.”

ASU made the switch from Nike to Adidas this year.

The Sun Devils will debut the “Be the Hammer” helmet and pants along with their “Desert Ice” white uniform top on Saturday at No. 7 UCLA.

The all-white “Desert Ice” uniforms were unveiled in late August and worn in the team’s season opener against Texas A&M on Sept. 5, a 38-17 loss.

After Saturday’s loss to USC, the Sun Devils dropped to 2-2 on the season.
