FGCU players clumsily hit on female MMA fighter Miesha Tate at the ESPYs

Florida Gulf Coast endeared itself to America during the NCAA tournament last March with its array of deft lob passes and high-flying slam dunks.

Unfortunately for the Eagles, it looks like they're not always quite so smooth off the court.

Dreadlocked shooting guard Sherwood Brown and a group of his ex-FGCU teammates, interrupted UFC women's bantamweight Miesha Tate while she was doing a TV interview after the ESPY Awards. Brown then made a very clumsy pickup attempt before Tate quickly shut him down, all while the ESNEWS cameras were rolling.

"I would love to take a piece of that," Brown told her, "I would love to take a piece."

Reponded Tate dryly and dismissively, "You wouldn't remember it."

Better luck next time, Sherwood, but it was worth a try. As the old saying goes, you miss 100 percent of the shots you don't take.
