Mad Dash: Some really bad teams will play in bowl games this year

There will be 41 college football bowl games played this year, which is a record, and while that means we'll all be treated to more postseason football, it turns out that football won't necessarily be all that good. Traditionally, teams have become bowl eligible once they get to six wins, but according to a report by ESPN's Brett McMurphy, there may not be enough six-win teams to go around with 82 needed to fill the games. To make matters worse, nobody is sure how the 5-7 teams left will be selected, so it appears the NCAA yet again as some explaining to do on behalf of a messy situation it has created itself.

A few eagle-eyed Braves fans shopping in the team's online store noticed something amiss about the clearance sale that included items for players that have long since moved on from the franchise, like Jason Heyward and Craig Kimbrel. There, in the mix, were Freddie Freeman items. Freeman is still on the team and a fan favorite, so alarm bells went off everywhere. FOX's Ken Rosenthal revealed that the team had shopped their first baseman around, but both GM John Coppalella and manager Fredi Gonzalez shot down the speculation. We'll have to wait until spring to see if the team's merchandise folks jumped the gun.

On Tuesday, Sweden's Zlatan Ibrahimovic connected for an incredible free kick that helped secure his country's place in Euro 2016 while knocking Denmark out. Afterwards, the 34-year-old had a very Zlatan quote for his critics and the team he'd just helped eliminate. We hope he never retires.
