Jeter: ‘I thought I was moving good’

Derek Jeter made his 2013 debut Thursday as the Yankees took on the Royals in New York. The 19-year vet started at designated hitter and batted second in the lineup, reaching base on an infield single and scoring in the first inning.

After his fourth at-bat, Jeter felt some tightness in his quad resulting in his removal from the lineup. Aside from the late-game tweak, "The Captain" said he felt good in his first big-league game of the year.
