New old news: Reggie Evans is the NBA's dirtiest player

Much to the surprise of absolutely no one, Reggie Evans(notes) has been voted the NBA's dirtiest player based on a Sports Illustrated survey of 173 fellow players. There's no indication of how many times Chris Kaman's(notes) vote was counted, but he definitely agrees.

Evans finished first with 21 percent of the vote, followed by Ron Artest(notes), Andres Nocioni(notes), Anderson Varejao(notes) and Kobe Bryant(notes). One of these things is not like the other, so we have to assume Kobe's "karate chop" shots from back in the day were factored into the voting.

Curiously, only Varejao and Nocioni are among the NBA leaders in fouls per 48 minutes. Since Evans doesn't qualify, maybe there is something to the notion that referees are kinder to the Lakers. Additionally, the NBA's leading fouler, Fabricio Oberto(notes), didn't receive a single vote, which makes sense. He seems nice.

Sports Illustrated also notes that if you include sixth place finisher Zaza Pachulia(notes), three of the top six vote getters have played internationally. And we thought flopping was the problem.
