Stipe Miocic earns decision over Gabriel Gonzaga

Former title challenger Gabriel Gonzaga landed early and often with leg kicks and over hand rights against Stipe Miocic Saturday night in the UFC in Fox 10 co-main event, but ultimately tired and got bloodied up before losing a unanimous decision to the Strong Style fighter. Through two rounds, Miocic ate his share of punches from Gonzaga to the head.

The firefighter was able to absorb the shots and use excellent conditioning to keep a steady pace and tire out "Napao." By the middle of the second round, Miocic's steady jab had bloodied up Gonzaga's nose.

In the third round, all the Brazilian could do was throw up the occasional hail Mary bomb in the form of the over hand right hands and attempted take downs. Miocic mostly avoided those shots and stuffed all of Gonzaga's takedowns.

The fighter out of Cleveland had a lot of fans in the Chicago audience and brought them to a roar when he finished the fight on top of Gonzaga, landing punch after punch until the final horn sounded.

Judges scored the fight 30-27 (twice) and 29-28 in favor of Miocic. The win is Miocic's second straight as he improves his record to 11-1.

Gonzaga drops to 16-8 and has a two-fight win streak snapped.
