Baby Doll straps on the four ounce gloves

As women's fighting grows in popularity and exposure, it's strange to see how many of the chicks look like pin-up models. HDNet will re-air a Las Vegas fight card on Oct. 17 that will feature an intriguing fighting and marketing prospect from the women's side in Elena 'Baby Doll' Reid. The 26-year old is on the card in the first fight of the night. Reid has the look of someone who should be featured on Art Mann Presents rather than slugging it out in a ring.

She's making the transition to mixed martial arts from boxing. The 26-year old Arizona-native won over just about everyone she came in contact with in the boxing world. Reid became the first boxing world champion (IFBA & WIBA) to try her hand at MMA last December. She defeated Tammie Schneider as she was able to stay off the mat for the most part.

It sounds like Reid feels like the future of women's boxing doesn't compare to the MMA side.

“These past two years I’ve tried hard to get a fight in boxing, and it hasn’t worked out,” Reid told NBC Sports. “It was very frustrating.”

The big challenge for Reid in MMA may be finding enough fights in her weight division. The 140 and 130 pounds divisions are the glamour spots in women's MMA. Is there enough depth at 108-115 lbs. to keep Reid busy?

The void left by Affliction's 'Day of Reckoning' cancellation is being filled by a deep card loaded with Xtreme Couture fighters. Randy Couture's gym is putting on an excellent night of fights at the Thomas & Mack in Sin City on Oct. 11. Reid starts off a card that features Jay Hieron, John Alessio, Mike Pyle, Hector Ramirez, Rick Roufus and TUF alum Josh Haynes.
