Canadian phenom adds ‘LeBron Dunk’ to his highlight reel
By now you've probably heard all about eighth grade basketball phenom Jamar Ergas, who at 14 years old is considered by many to be the best middle school hoops player around. With a quick first step and a vertical that would make some vertically challenged professional basketball players envious, the Canadian sensation has been putting on a show for the last year with some unbelievable dunk videos.
After perfecting the 360 and dunking 10 times in an AAU game, Ergas tried to up his game recently at the John Lucas International Middle School Combine in Houston, which featured the Top 100 seventh- and eighth-graders from the United States and around the world. With Ergas as the headliner, he didn't disappoint in his final game, throwing down three highlight reel dunks.
While the dunks are impressive, the best part of this video has to be the voices in the background, as well as the reaction to each dunk, during the clip. As he goes up for the windmill, one guy yells out, "don't hurt 'em, don't hurt 'em." I'm still not sure if he's talking about the player trailing Ergas, or the guy he almost dunked on.

From throwing down everything from "The LeBron Dunk" -- where he cocks the ball back insanely far -- to the windmill and dunking on another player in the camp, Ergas certainly has the entire dunk repertoire down. With so much hype surrounding the kid, it'll be interesting to see how he handles the pressure, and the bull's-eye that will be on him next year, when he leaves his home in Toronto for North Carolina to play at the famed Christian Faith Center Academy.
