John Daly's SpongeBob SquarePants pants are simply the best

John Daly is a permanent guest of the Open Championship because of his landmark 1995 victory there, and every single year, he brings a big heapin' slice of Americana, heavy on the cheese and sprinkles, over to whatever little town happens to be hosting the Open.

Daly always loves his wild pants, but this year he's rocking a new style: SpongeBob SquarePants. Let's take a closer look:

Delightful. Daly, who like SpongeBob is absorbent, yellow (haired) and porous, probably won't make too much noise on the leaderboard, but if history is any guide, he'll have a couple signature putts and some drives that might just end up in the sea.

Only thing we're bummed about is that he won't have Metallica to announce him at the first tee:

Never change, John.
