With six vacationing NFL clubs, Week 4 is a tricky one to navigate. But all things considered, it's not that bad an injury report. We'll start with the wide receivers and tight ends.

• Calvin Johnson (ankle) had a limited workout Friday after missing the two previous days. The Lions have an early start at the Jets, so you'll want to double-check before locking in the lineup. Johnson usually plays through most maladies, but he did have one surprise game-day scratch last season.

• Brandon Marshall (ankle) looked superhuman in the Week 2 win at San Francisco, but it's been a tricky slog since. He was clearly compromised Monday at New York, and he hasn't practiced all week. He's a true game-day call for Sunday's division grudge match against the Packers. Santonio Holmes gets a rank upgrade if Marshall is forced out of action, in theory anyway, and tight end Martellus Bennett has been a target monster in the early going.

Vernon Davis (ankle) did some practice the last two days but nonetheless will be a game-time decision for Sunday's home match against Philadelphia. It's a second-wave start, which makes it tricky for fantasy owners. Vance McDonald (knee) is also a game-day call.

• The Jets think they'll get Eric Decker (hamstring) on the field in Week 4, but no one can say how many snaps he's ready to handle. Recall that he played Monday against Chicago but lasted a mere 12 snaps. I have a handful of Decker shares, but I'm not going to risk it with him this week.

• Marqise Lee (hamstring) isn't going to play at San Diego, which cleans up the Jacksonville receiver group a bit. Allen Robinson, Cecil Shorts and Allen Hurns are the main targets for rookie QB Blake Bortles.

• Jarrett Boykin (knee/groin) didn't work Friday and is unlikely to play, which could push Davante Adams into a bigger role.

• Delanie Walker (shoulder) had a limited Friday and is listed as questionable. Barring a setback in warmups, it looks like he'll play against the Colts.

• Kyle Rudolph is coming off groin surgery and is expected to miss about six weeks. The Vikings don't have another pass-catching tight end of note, so more should be expected of wide receivers Cordarrelle Patterson and Greg Jennings.

• Harry Douglas (foot) took most of the reps this week, though he was limited on Friday. He'll probably go at Minnesota, but heads up - it's a second-wave game.

• Joseph Fauria (ankle) won't go for the Lions, which might open the door for Eric Ebron to make an impact.

• Ladarius Green (hamstring) missed Friday's practice and is probably too risky to trust in Week 4. He's been surprisingly underused through three games.

Running Backs

• Jamaal Charles (ankle) practiced Friday and appears to be in good shape for a Week 4 return, though we can't say too much with confidence until the Chiefs have their Saturday practice. Keep in mind Kansas City hosts New England on Monday.

• Arian Foster (hamstring) had a limited practice week and is considered questionable for the home game against Buffalo. If Foster turns out to be a Sunday scratch, Alfred Blue is the beneficiary.

• Bernard Pierce (thigh) had a full week of practice and should be ready to go. He's listed as probable. Lorenzo Taliaferro looks like the most talented Baltimore back to many of us, but Pierce and Justin Forsett are around to complicate things.

• Maurice Jones-Drew (hand) looks ready to return to action, though Darren McFadden should get the start agains the Dolphins. God save the queen.

• Mark Ingram (hand) isn't expected to return until the middle of October. Pierre Thomas and Khiry Robinson take aim at the leaky Dallas defense.

• Jonathan Stewart (knee) did a little work this week, though context clues point to him missing Sunday's game against Baltimore. This backfield usually turns into fantasy quicksand, one way or another. DeAngelo Williams will probably be the starting tailback in Week 4.

Quarterbacks

• Jake Locker (wrist) took a few reps Friday after sitting the previous two days. He's questionable for the game at Indianapolis. Charlie Whitehurst is the current No. 2 on the Tennessee roster, with Zach Mettenberger the intriguing long-term prospect.

• Josh McCown (thumb) is out indefinitely, which forces the Bucs to play Mike Glennon, their better quarterback. Good news if you own Vincent Jackson or Mike Evans.
