CAPE ELIZABETH, Maine – McKayla Kortes added another chapter in her storied junior season with the York High School softball team on Wednesday.

Kortes threw her fourth no-hitter of the season and struck out eight as the Wildcats beat Cape Cape Elizabeth, 18-0 in a Class B South game that was called after five innings due to the 10-run rule.

Kortes also had three hits and four RBIs as York improved to 14-1 on the season. York’s Ella Moon and Maddy Raymond both blast three-run homers, and freshman Maddie Fitzgerald had five hits and four RBIs.

Ella Hickey added two hits for the Wildcats, while Emily Estes and Ava Brent both had one.

SOFTBALL

St. Thomas 11

RAYMOND – Senior Ashleigh von der Linden allowed four hits and struck out 12, including the 400th of her career, leading St. Thomas Aquinas to this Division III win.

The Saints ended their regular season with a record of 15-1.

Also, von der Linden hit her 13th homer of the season and drove in three.  Elizabeth Flynn, Maddie Hoyt and Abby Kosko all had two hits and scored two runs in the win.

STA sophomore Abbie Gaynor had a double and an RBI, and teammate Amelia Anderson had one hit and scored one run.

BASEBALL

Cape Elizabeth 4 

York 1 

CAPE ELIZABETH, Maine – The hosts Capers broke a 1-1 tie with a three-run sixth inning in this Class B South contest.

Jake Fogg and Ryan Hanscom both had two hits for the Wildcats, while Ben Brown had a hit and an RBI.

York’s John Jacobsohn allowed four hits and one earned run in six innings.

Somersworth 10 

Hopkinton 0 

SOMERSWORTH – Zephan Yoder, on Somersworth Senior Day, allowed one hit and struck out eight over five innings, earning this Division III win.

The Hilltoppers also honored senior Andrew Cushing before the game.

Cushing had two hits and three RBIs for Somersworth, while Yoder had two hits and an RBI.

Somersworth's Lukas Kelley (four hits, two RBIs), Logan Perrault (two hits, two RBIs), Kian Marsh (single) and Kaden Bickford (double) all contributed.

GIRLS LACROSSE

Portsmouth 19 

Dover 9 

DOVER - Avery Ruhnke’s five goals and assists, and Annie Parker’s five goals and one assist led Portsmouth to this Division I win.

Morgan Ruhnke added four goals and one assist for the Clippers, while Ginger Vinciguerra had three goals and one assist. Lily Patterson (goal, four assists), Charlotte Marston (goal, assist) and Lexi Stanley (assist) all figured in the Portsmouth scoring.

Portsmouth goalie Sage Bussiere had seven saves.

Marshwood 16 

Portland 2 

SOUTH BERWICK, Maine – Sarah Theriault notched seven goals, and Maddy Poitras had three goals and one assist as Marshwood improved to 9-3 on the season with this Class B win.

Maeve Long and Lindley Gori both scored two goals for the Hawks, and Hadley Prewitt (goal, two assists), Charlotte Smith (goal) and Olivia Drake (assist) all figured in the scoring.

Marshwood goalie Lauren Walker had 10 saves, while Nora Dockham, Kaley Donovan, Elle McDaniel, Eva Hersey, and Liv Holt all starred defensively.

Winnacunnet 18 

Spaulding 2 

ROCHESTER - Maia Delano’s four goals and five assists led Winnacunnet to this Division II win.

Skyla Mace added three goals for the Warriors, while Shea Graham, Tegan Rooney, Abby Wilber, Addy McErlain and Elle Emery all had two, Teammates Emmy Granger and Sarah Rademacher both had one goal.

Senior Hannah Raab scored both Spaulding goals, while goalie Izzy Orrell had five saves.

'St. Thomas Aquinas 24 

Trinity 11 

DOVER - Cat Vetter’s seven goals and Charlotte De Tolla’s five led St. Thomas Aquinas (13-1) to this Division III win.

Reece Anderson added four goals for the Saints, while Lizzy Holden and Annita Parmelee both had three, and Lila Meuse had two.

STA goalie Anna Stailey had seven saves.

Oyster River 6 

Goffstown 5 

DURHAM - Elsa Pueschel, Waverly Oake-Libow and Sophie Royal all scored two goals for Oyster River in this Division II win.

Royal added two assists for the Bobcats, while Pueschel and Oake-Libow both had one.

Oyster River goalie Eliza Farwell had six saves.

York 13 

Cape Elizabeth 12 

YORK, Maine - Anna Doughty and Grace Clayton both had three goals and two assists for York in this Class B win.

Abigail Armlin and Ava Fontaine both had two goals for the Wildcats, while Natalie Dickson had one goal and one assist, and Ella Boissonneault had one goal.

Traip Academy 12

Fryeburg Academy 4

KITTERY, Maine - Quinn McPherson and Jacey Johnson each scored three goals for Traip in this Class C win.

Keira Alessi added two goals for the Rangers, while Sarah Carven, Francis Burke, Maddie Rohan and Hayden Bouffard all had one.

VOLLEYBALL

Winnacunnet 3 

Bishop Guertin 0 

NASHUA - Michael Smith (16 service points, eight kills), Joshua Schaake (eight kills, 21 digs), Bryce Molnar (25 assists), and Willem Belanger (14 digs) all starred for Winnacunnet in this Division I win.

Individual set scores were 25-15, 25-8, 25-8.

Winnacunnet improved to 10-4 with the win.
