New York Jets at Las Vegas Raiders: Predictions, picks and odds for NFL Week 10 game

The Las Vegas Raiders (4-5) take another step into their new era when they take on the New York Jets (4-4) in primetime on Sunday night at Allegiant Stadium.

The Raiders got their first victory of the post-Josh McDaniels era last week when they beat the New York Giants 30-6 behind rookie Aidan O'Connell. The quarterback found wide receiver Davante Adams four times after the veteran only had one catch a week prior with Jimmy Garoppolo at the helm. Josh Jacobs had 98 yards and two touchdowns while the Las Vegas defense registered 8 sacks on the Giants.

The Jets outperformed the Los Angeles Chargers offense 270 yards to 191 in a 27-6 loss. Quarterback Zach Wilson was sacked 8 times. He's been taken down an average of 4 times per game this season. Their defense is ranked second in the league, allowing only 1,398 passing yards so far this season.

Will the Raiders continue the good juju of their new chapter? Or will New York rain on their parade?

Lorenzo Reyes: Raiders 18, Jets 14

I think we’re starting to see just how unsustainable New York’s run in October was; the defense can carry the offense only so far if Zach Wilson cannot elevate his play. Las Vegas, meanwhile, appears rejuvenated and is playing with swagger and energy it so sorely missed. As home dogs, I like them here.

Tyler Dragon: Raiders 19, Jets 16

Raiders interim head coach Antonio Pierce has galvanized the team and fan base. The team’s reaction after last week’s victory illustrated that. The Raiders are going to have a difficult time moving the ball against the Jets' defense, but Davante Adams and Josh Jacobs will make just enough plays for Las Vegas to win. Plus, the Zach Wilson-led Jets offense has a hard time scoring on anybody.

Safid Deen: Raiders 24, Jets 10

Antonio Pierce could not have gotten better matchups in his first two games as Raiders coach. The Jets have one of the best defenses in the NFL, but the worst quarterback in the NFL and no other options outside of Breece Hall offensively. The Raiders have renewed hope led by Pierce, and just enough offense to beat the Jets this week.

Victoria Hernandez: Raiders 20, Jets 17

Technically, the Jets offense outperformed the Chargers last week. But Zach Wilson was sacked eight times in the loss and failed to reach the end zone. The Raiders have their own formidable defense and are riding high in a new era. With high morale, Las Vegas takes the home win in primetime.

Jordan Mendoza: Raiders 17, Jets 14

One of the more intriguing matchups of the week, Las Vegas is playing with a new sense of optimism after thrashing the Giants. New York reminded everyone on Monday their offense is still a mess. The new-look Raiders get another win in a defensive battle.
