New York Jets at Dallas Cowboys: Predictions, picks and odds for NFL Week 2 game

The big story of Week 1 was that Aaron Rodgers tore his Achilles tendon in his first offensive possession of the 2023 season.

The New York Jets (1-0) now take on the Dallas Cowboys (1-0) at AT&T Stadium without the four-time MVP.

Zach Wilson was able to carry the Jets to a victory over the Buffalo Bills, but Dak Prescott was much more dominant in his 40-0 performance to beat the New York Giants.

Both teams have stalwart defenses that will cause problems. New York has last year's Defensive Rookie of the Year, Sauce Gardner, and Jordan Whitehead, the latter of whom intercepted Josh Allen three times. Dallas has Micah Parsons and Trevon Diggs in a defense that had seven sacks and two interceptions against Daniel Jones.

Which defense will come out on top?

Lorenzo Reyes: Cowboys 21, Jets 14

I love the under here. Both defenses are elite and with Aaron Rodgers out for the season, New York will almost certainly transform to a run-dominant team. I think the Cowboys covering this line is more uncertain because the Jets do have offensive weapons. But the under is where I’m focused.

Tyler Dragon: Cowboys 34, Jets 13

The Cowboys had the most dominant performance coming out of Week 1. While the Jets had the most catastrophic outcome, albeit in a win. Without Aaron Rodgers, the Jets just won’t be able to score enough points to keep up with the Cowboys.

Victoria Hernandez: Cowboys 28, Jets 13

The Cowboys showed us they are ready to compete in the 2023 season. Dak Prescott is a great quarterback, but Dallas' defense is really the X-factor for this team and shouldn't have a problem against Zach Wilson.

Jordan Mendoza: Cowboys 26, Jets 16

The Jets were able to pull off a gritty win without Aaron Rodgers. We saw what the Dallas defense did to one New York team already, and while it won’t pitch another shutout, it makes Zach Wilson’s life tough. The Jets defense keeps the game within reach.
