FSU's Keon Coleman, Johnny Wilson wore Apple Watches vs. LSU. Is that against NCAA rules?

Florida State wide receivers Keon Coleman and Johnny Wilson had monster games Sunday against LSU.

Coleman recorded 122 receiving yards and three touchdowns; Wilson had 104 receiving yards.

However, fans have pointed out a certain accessory the receivers wore during the game.

Photos clearly show Coleman was wearing an Apple Watch on his left wrist and Wilson was wearing one on his left wrist, too.

Fans on X, formerly known as Twitter, have also pointed out the players donning the Apple product during the game.

According to the NCAA, wearing of any electronic signal devices is illegal except in certain circumstances.

Those certain circumstances would be a medically prescribed hearing aid of the sound-amplifier type for hearing-impaired players or a device for transmission or reception of data specifically and only for purposes of health and safety.

An FSU spokesperson said that Coleman and Wilson's choice to wear an Apple Watch during the game was a personal choice.

This isn't the first time a player has been seen wearing an Apple Watch during a game.

In 2022, Ohio State wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. wore an Apple Watch, and Louis Vuitton cleats during the Buckeyes' game against Wisconsin.

In 2020, Alabama head coach Nick Saban said players were given Apple Watches to monitor workouts at home during the COVID-19 pandemic.

FSU's win over LSU on Sunday boosted the Seminoles to No. 4 in the latest edition of the AP Poll, a four-spot improvement from last week.

FSU hosts Southern Miss on Saturday, September 9 at 8:30 p.m.
