For all the changes to the Xavier men's basketball roster over the last seven weeks, one of the fan favorites from last year's club is returning to the Musketeers.

Brad Colbert, beloved for bringing the mullet back to Cintas Center, announced on social media Monday that he was returning for his fifth season of college basketball and third with the Musketeers.

Colbert, who played at Moeller High School before finishing his prep career at Andrew Osborne Academy, began his collegiate career with former Xavier head coach Chris Mack at Louisville before joining the Musketeers.

Colbert received some minutes off the bench down the stretch of Xavier's 16-18 season, most notably during a late February road loss to Marquette. One day later, Sean Miller called out his team for a lack of effort in the defeat and said he'd give Colbert a chance.

Xavier coach Sean Miller said Brad Colbert, right, will "give everything he has for the sake of the team."

"The one thing I know about Colbert is, he's gonna give everything he has for the sake of the team. That's why I put him in last night," Miller said during his radio show in Mariemont.

Colbert appeared in nine games off the bench last season and finished with 12 points on 4-of-5 shooting.

At the end of the season, Miller said Colbert would explore the possibility of joining a Division II team to garner more playing time. Colbert entered the transfer portal on March 25 but has decided to stay at Xavier.
