WR Marshall visiting Seahawks

Free agent wide receiver Brandon Marshall is visiting the Seattle Seahawks.

Multiple sources reported Marshall was checking out the Seahawks' facility in Renton, Wash., this week.

Marshall was released April 19 after one year with the New York Giants following a season in which he played only five games due to a left ankle injury requiring surgery.

Marshall, 34, completed his 12th NFL season in 2017 with 18 catches for 154 yards and no touchdowns, marking the first time in his career that he failed to catch a touchdown or appear in at least 13 games in a season.

Marshall has played for five teams and made the Pro Bowl with four of them -- twice with both the Denver Broncos and Chicago Bears, once each for the Miami Dolphins and New York Jets -- but he has never played for a team that made the playoffs.

He has 959 receptions, 12,215 receiving yards and 82 touchdowns in his career, ranking third among all active players, and second among active wideouts, in each category.

Seattle's offseason overhaul included losing wide receiver Paul Richardson (44 receptions last season) to the Washington Redskins in free agency. Tight end Jimmy Graham (57 catches in 2017) also left in free agency, signing with the Green Bay Packers.
